On two exciting days, the 27. and October 28, 2023, visitors can discover, taste and enjoy the rich variety of regional products at the Merano Kurhaus. This event offers not only high-quality products, but also insights into their production, tastings, workshops and entertainment for the whole family.

The South Tyrolean Genusstage are the ideal place to experience the quality and variety of products with the South Tyrol quality mark. Local herbs and spices, homemade jams, organic and free-range eggs, aromatic honey, delicious breads made from regional grains, local meat, vegetables, dairy products, grappa, beer made from South Tyrolean barley, apple juice and apple cider – this event presents a wide range of delicacies. Regardless of their diversity, all these products have one thing in common: they bear the South Tyrol quality mark, which stands for tested quality and guaranteed origin from South Tyrol.

South Tyrolean days of pleasure: A program for all the senses

The South Tyrolean Days of Enjoyment offer a diverse program that appeals to all the senses. Here you can experience firsthand the peculiarities of the products and discover the secrets of their production. There are tastings, workshops and live cooking shows that will introduce you to the typical flavors and characteristics. The event is also designed to be family-friendly, with entertainment for younger visitors.

Friday, 27.10.2023: A day full of pleasure and knowledge

On Friday, the days of pleasure will begin with the official opening at 14:00. The program for the day includes an impressive live cooking show with students from Kaiserhof Merano preparing raspberry tarts. There will also be a workshop with the theme “Taste meets sustainability”, which will focus on the special nature of meat from South Tyrol. Children can participate in their own workshop where they make marigold ointment with pork fat and South Tyrolean herbs.

At 4:00 pm you can experience another live cooking show, this time with blogger Annalena Ganner, who will prepare delicious burgers. Another workshop titled “The Little Herbal Home Pharmacy” offers the opportunity to learn more about the use of herbs in the medicine cabinet.

Saturday, 28.10.2023: Continuation of the pleasure

On Saturday, the event continues with more exciting program items. At 10:30 a.m. you can experience a live cooking show with Petra Patscheider from the restaurant Das Gerstl, where Paarlbrot gnocchi will be prepared. A workshop on the topic “Future Trend Beekeeping” provides insights into the world of beekeeping.

At 12:00 there will be a tasting of beer and cheese, where you can discover the perfect combination of these two delicacies.

At 2:00 p.m. you can participate in another live cooking show, followed by a workshop with the theme “Fermenting: Rediscovering an ancient technique of preservation”. Here you will learn how food can be preserved naturally through fermentation.

The day ends with another live cooking show, this time with Claudia Laner from Restaurant Waldbichl, a traditional South Tyrolean inn. The event will be rounded off with another tasting, where you will once again have the opportunity to enjoy the great products of the region.

The South Tyrolean Genusstage thus promise not only culinary delights, but also a diverse and informative experience for all visitors. Here people of all ages can learn about the rich culinary tradition of South Tyrol and have fun at the same time.
