The Terre di Pisa Food and Wine Festival celebrates its impressive 11th edition this year! Over the years, thanks to the ever-growing participation of the public, producers and restaurateurs, the festival has become an iconic event in the field of wine and food tourism in the Terre di Pisa region.

Pisa, an ancient port city, together with its province, reveals itself once again as a place that preserves its role as a crossroads of cultures, traditions, products and dishes. These are interpreted and upgraded in a modern way, with particular attention to nutritional and food safety aspects.

This year the Terre di Pisa Food and Wine Festival celebrates its 11th edition, and it is impressive to see how this event has evolved and grown over the years. Thanks to the growing participation of the public, producers and restaurateurs, it has become an important event in the field of wine and food tourism in the Terre di Pisa.

Pisa and its province show themselves again this year as a crossroads of cultures, traditions, products and dishes. These are reinterpreted in a modern interpretation, emphasizing health and welfare considerations in particular.

The beautiful Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Pisa, in the heart of the historic center, will welcome over 80 local producers offering cheeses, oils, cured meats, pasta, wines, beers, liqueurs, chocolates and cookies for sale and tasting.

To deepen the understanding of these products, the restaurants and bars on the square offer menus and workshops on various topics. The local products are used as raw materials for the preparation of original or traditional dishes, which are combined with the wines of the region.

Olive oil, one of the key products of Tuscan cuisine, will have a special place in the event. At the Oil Bar, you can explore the sensory properties of oils from different regions through guided tastings and receive information on the combination of oil and food.

The “Fettunta” will be the star of the final public competition. Under the guidance of experts, participants will be challenged to choose the best fettunta and crown the best baker of Terre di Pisa!

In a special facility run by the Interdepartmental Center Nutrafood of the University of Pisa, you can get the right information for conscious, healthy and safe shopping and consumption in a fun way, from fish to chocolate, from bread to apples.

As always, there will also be space for the little ones: In front of the magnificent mural by Keith Haring, children and young people become artists and take part in activities for drawing and coloring around the theme of food. You are also invited to enjoy a delicious snack with the local products.
