Tenth edition for the FORST Beer Christmas Forest

From 22.11.2023 to 07.01.2024, the Forst Christmas Forest will once again be a guest at the FORST Bier headquarters in Lagundo (BZ) with many new products. An event that has now become a permanent fixture, which is associated with tradition, passion and the cozy atmosphere of Advent and this year reaches the important milestone of its tenth edition.

Over the years, the magical Forst Christmas Forest has become a popular destination for the most contemplative time of the year. This year marks the tenth edition of the fairytale Christmas world. Authentic moments, warm hospitality, blazing fireplaces, the impressive “FORST Barn” with the large solidarity exhibition “South Tyrol. Human Territory” and a special farmers’ market with agricultural and artisan products, magical Christmas huts, a sheepfold, a nativity scene exhibition and many other exciting offers await young and old on the FORST Beer site.

At the entrance, visitors are greeted by Forst’s peace bell with its impressive design and lovely sound. It is intended to carry a message of peace and charity into the world. Every year, FORST combines the Christmas season with charitable initiatives.

To mark the 10th anniversary, the solidarity initiative “Südtirol. Human Territory” for the benefit of “Südtirol hilft” – the “Rural Solidarity Fund”. The South Tyrolean women who live and cultivate rural traditions were portrayed by the well-known photographer Paul Croes and can be admired in unique exhibitions, in the magnificent “FORST barn” in the Forster Christmas forest, in a selection of renowned South Tyrolean hotels and in FORST restaurants throughout the country. Thanks to the associated charity raffle, this year you can do good with a ticket for just 1 euro.

“Christmas is a time of giving and love in search of the light. In this sense, the solidarity initiative ‘Südtirol. Human land’. We share the same values with these strong and valuable women. Values of respect, passion and rootedness in our origins. The well-being of the country and its people is a top priority for both of us and this solidarity initiative supports people in need,” emphasizes Cellina von Mannstein, the fifth generation of FORST Bier.

A varied entertainment program with magical characters from the Christmas world such as St. Nicholas and Krampus, “Burggrofn Tuifl”, ice princesses, Santa Claus and “Knecht Ruprecht”, chimney sweeps, the Epiphany couple and the Three Wise Men attracts young and old to the lovingly decorated Christmas world.

In this unique setting, the FORST beer specialties, above all the FORST Christmas beer, can be enjoyed with delicious food. The FORST Christmas beer in the high-quality 2-liter glass bottle is celebrating a special anniversary this year. The decoration of the 20th limited edition rings in the Christmas season in a particularly splendid way and conveys the Christmas message and the commitment to the art of brewing.

South Tyrolean cuisine is served in the historic Sixtus-FORST hall and in the warm-up area of the warm-up tents with rustic catering, the popular hut and the cake house next to the Forst ice rink. The lovingly decorated Christmas huts and the FORST pavilion invite you to linger in a cozy atmosphere with food and drink. The Christmas forest also includes selected sales stands and the FORST store with lots of gift ideas. Here, visitors can browse through unique handicrafts, products and beer specialties from the FORST world.

In addition to the Forst Christmas Forest, the FORST Schlosswirt with the award-winning Luisl Stube restaurant and the FORST Bräustüberl invite you to enjoy unique culinary experiences.

The Forster Christmas Forest is open this year from Wednesday, November 22, 2023 to Sunday, 07. Open from January 1, 2024. The Christmas Forest remains closed on Monday, November 27, Tuesday, November 28, Monday, December 11, Tuesday, December 12, Monday, December 18, Tuesday, December 19 and Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Selva Gardena: Mountain Christmas in the glow of lights

Selva Gardena presents the Mountain Christmas with an imposing 350-meter-long band of lights, on which small wooden houses of the mountain railroads are suspended. Over mulled wine and Christmas cookies, visitors can admire the festive decorations and listen to Christmas sounds.

On two exciting days, the 27. and October 28, 2023, visitors can discover, taste and enjoy the rich variety of regional products at the Merano Kurhaus. This event offers not only high-quality products, but also insights into their production, tastings, workshops and entertainment for the whole family.

Quality and variety from South Tyrol

The South Tyrolean Genusstage are the ideal place to experience the quality and variety of products with the South Tyrol quality mark. Local herbs and spices, homemade jams, organic and free-range eggs, aromatic honey, delicious breads made from regional grains, local meat, vegetables, dairy products, grappa, beer made from South Tyrolean barley, apple juice and apple cider – this event presents a wide range of delicacies. Regardless of their diversity, all these products have one thing in common: they bear the South Tyrol quality mark, which stands for tested quality and guaranteed origin from South Tyrol.

South Tyrolean days of pleasure: A program for all the senses

The South Tyrolean Days of Enjoyment offer a diverse program that appeals to all the senses. Here you can experience firsthand the peculiarities of the products and discover the secrets of their production. There are tastings, workshops and live cooking shows that will introduce you to the typical flavors and characteristics. The event is also designed to be family-friendly, with entertainment for younger visitors.

Friday, 27.10.2023: A day full of pleasure and knowledge

On Friday, the days of pleasure will begin with the official opening at 14:00. The program for the day includes an impressive live cooking show with students from Kaiserhof Merano preparing raspberry tarts. There will also be a workshop with the theme “Taste meets sustainability”, which will focus on the special nature of meat from South Tyrol. Children can participate in their own workshop where they make marigold ointment with pork fat and South Tyrolean herbs.

At 4:00 pm you can experience another live cooking show, this time with blogger Annalena Ganner, who will prepare delicious burgers. Another workshop titled “The Little Herbal Home Pharmacy” offers the opportunity to learn more about the use of herbs in the medicine cabinet.

Saturday, 28.10.2023: Continuation of the pleasure

On Saturday, the event continues with more exciting program items. At 10:30 a.m. you can experience a live cooking show with Petra Patscheider from the restaurant Das Gerstl, where Paarlbrot gnocchi will be prepared. A workshop on the topic “Future Trend Beekeeping” provides insights into the world of beekeeping.

At 12:00 there will be a tasting of beer and cheese, where you can discover the perfect combination of these two delicacies.

At 2:00 p.m. you can participate in another live cooking show, followed by a workshop with the theme “Fermenting: Rediscovering an ancient technique of preservation”. Here you will learn how food can be preserved naturally through fermentation.

The day ends with another live cooking show, this time with Claudia Laner from Restaurant Waldbichl, a traditional South Tyrolean inn. The event will be rounded off with another tasting, where you will once again have the opportunity to enjoy the great products of the region.

The South Tyrolean Genusstage thus promise not only culinary delights, but also a diverse and informative experience for all visitors. Here people of all ages can learn about the rich culinary tradition of South Tyrol and have fun at the same time. 20 October 2023, Salurn (17.00 – 24.00)

Klang Castle Haderburg Experience a special evening in the medieval courtyard of the Haderburg. Live music with the band “4 Gsponn”, tasting of Salurn wines from the Ceo and Salurnis wineries. At 6:30 pm you will dive into the past with our night watch and learn a lot about the Middle Ages during a guided tour through the Haderburg. At 20:15 you can expect a fire dance.

21 October 2023, Andrian (11.00 – 14.30)

Matinee at Festenstein Castle. Experience medieval music at its best with the Duo Enßle-Lamprecht at a concert in the spectacular walls of the Festenstein castle ruins above Andrian. Sitting on the lawn in the castle courtyard, surrounded by the immense nature of the Gaider Gorge, with the wonderful backdrop of the Dolomites in the distance, enjoy the music.

This is what the matinee offers, which takes place in this special place as part of the WeinKlänge on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. After the concert, the wine of the Andrian Winery is presented as an aperitif at the Moarhof in the hamlet of Gaid above the castle. In case of bad weather the event will take place in the multipurpose hall of the municipality of Andrian.

October 22, 2023, Branzoll (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
Matinee at Ansitz Thomsen. The courtyard of the Ansitz Thomsen in Branzoll will be the setting for the matinee of the Alpin Lounge Orchestra on October 22, 2023 at 11:00 am. In the concert of the formation of 9-12 musicians, drumset meets accordion or jazz vocals meet cello, which leads to a wide-ranging program of classical music and light music up to cross-over arrangements.
At the beginning and during the intermission of the concert, visitors will be served a glass of wine. At the end of the matinee there will be a wine tasting with various wines from the H. Lentsch winery. Matinee at the Gschnoferhof. As part of the “WeinKlänge an der Südtiroler Weinstraße” in late autumn 2023, we cordially invite you to a concert by the percussion band “conTakt” from South Tyrol. Georg Malfertheiner, Manfred Gampenrieder, Philipp Höller and Christian Miglioranza perform pieces from classical to new music with various percussion instruments. Rhythm is her specialty; everything with which and on which you can make sounds and noises is her playground. Take a castle, five excellent musicians and five excellent wines: In the courtyard of Maretsch Castle, the Bolzano ensemble Aluna will delight visitors with music that tells of wine. Laughter and WINE Literary WINE sights and sounds in 7/10 time at Ansitz Freienfeld, with Leo Ploner, text and vocals Sylvia Lanz, violin Ulli Mattle, cello Davide Lorenzato, accordion. The four musicians serve musical and literary pearls, which can only be said through the wine glass. Culinary Matinée with the Cinquino Brass Quintet – WineSounds. Experience a first-class concert visit in the historical walls of the cultural center “Zur Sonne” with the ensemble Cinquino Brass Quintett. After the sounds of the music have taken their leave after about an hour, the focus is placed on enjoyment. 28 October 2023, Tramin (10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.)

The historic Elena Walch winery opens its doors to concertgoers. After the last notes of the woodwind quintet “Lignun” have faded away in the historic courtyard overlooking the picturesque mountain scenery, we will take you on a journey of discovery in the wine cellar. Today, Elena Walch’s award-winning wines are produced in the former Jesuit monastery with the help of traditional and avant-garde winemaking techniques.

The charming contrast of ornately carved wooden barrels and the state-of-the-art fermentation cellar with its architectural highlights perfectly reflects our identity and versatility. During the subsequent tasting of four selected wines in the park of the winery, you will have the opportunity to see for yourself!

29 October 2023, Kaltern (10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.)

The first concert of the series of events “WeinKlänge an der Südtiroler Weinstraße” in Kaltern opens the ladies’ salon orchestra La Valse. The six ladies are fully committed to the swinging and elegant melodies of Johann Strauss and other famous composers such as Lehar, Kreisler and Ziehrer. At Ansitz Windegg you can expect culinary delicacies, exquisite wine from Kaltern and a wonderful location that will enchant your senses.

04 November 2023, Kaltern (17.00 – 19.00)

“Wine is my whole heart” is the name of the musical-literary evening dedicated to the enjoyment of wine with Christine Lasta and Toni Taschler. They will look the vernacular in the mouth, give hangover recipes, explain the relationship between politics and alcohol, tell witty stories about the noble grape juice from Plutarch to Goethe to Kurt Tucholsky and tell of erotic side effects of wine drinking. The South Tyrolean musicians Helga Plankensteiner and Michael Lösch accompany the evening with old and new “intoxicating” hits.

05 November 2023, Eppan (18.00 – 24.00)

In Eppan at Freudenstein Castle, the 15-member ensemble “Windkraft” with soprano Maria Eleonora Caminada and conductor Hans Finatzer will perform. Windkraft takes up a tradition in a contemporary way, namely that of brass music, which is of great importance in Tyrol. The supporting program includes a wine tasting of the Fallwind line of the St. Michael-Eppan Winery and a nude art exhibition.
